Check out the new trucks link to the left for information on how and where we got our new trucks. Also look at our pictures page for pictures of the new trucks.

New trucks are in service as of 4-20-2010. The Rescue Engine went on a car accident that night for it's first run for our department. There are pictures of the car accident and of the new Rescue Engine on it's first run! If you are a member of the department be sure to see one of the officers or the chief to be cleared to drive and pump both vehicles.

Saving a Life

On May 1st, the Richland Township Fire Rescue were dispatched to an Emergency Medical Call for a male not breathing.

Bloomfield Deputy Town Marshal Harvey Holt responded as the call was close to the town limits. When Officer Holt arrived on the scene he found a male with no pulse and not breathing. Officer Holt performed CPR on the male and was able to regain a pulse on the male prior to the arrival of fire department personnel.

Once the fire department was on scene Officer Holt assisted with the patient care as needed until the arrival of Greene County Ambulance Service personnel.

If not for the quick response and acts of Officer Holt the patients outcome may not have been the same. This shows the true meaning of assisting the public in their time of need. The department would like to thank Officer Holt for his acts above and beyond the call of duty. The Department would also like to thank Greene County Reserve Deputy Jason Crouch for his assistance with the call.

Both Officers and the Richland Township Fire Rescue acted in a manner to help save a persons life without knowing that person.  Everyone needs to remember there are several people in this great county that still care for the communities and the people who live in it. They are the police, ambulance, and firefighters both paid and volunteer that work in the county, towns and cities.

The department would like to thank all responders in Greene County.
